Welcome to the website for The Clacton and Holland Beach Hut Association.
Whilst it has been impossible to arrange the usual meetings during the present crisis, please be assured that your committee is continuing to work with other agencies such as Tendring District Council and Community Guard to serve the interests of the Association's members and enable us to continue to use the Beach Huts within the current restrictions.
We all look forward to the time when we can meet up again in a more formal setting. Please continue to look at the website for up to date information

We Hope you enjoy it.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE CHAIR ELECT OF CHBHA
Dear Member September 2020
Clacton and Holland Beach Hut Association End of Season Meeting
Further to the previous correspondence advising of the cancellation of the AGM due to the Covid19 pandemic, I regret to advise you that your committee has decided that due to the continuing risks, there will be no End of Season Meeting this year, the meeting set for 10 October has been cancelled.
We have taken advice from the appropriate authorities and partly due to the vulnerability of a substantial portion of our membership we feel this is the correct decision.
The summary balance sheet showing the Association’s financial position has recently been published on our website and simultaneously with the issue of this letter we will be posting a report from the Chair summarising the range of activities which has been carried out during the season to support you, the members.
If anyone has any questions concerning this, please contact the Secretary for advice.
Once again apologies for the need to write in these terms and I hope to be able to give better news for next season
Chair Elect and Treasurer CHBHA
WARNING RE "ROGUE TRADERS"
We have been advised by a member that a white van has been see near some huts in C section bearing the signage "Beach Hut Maintenance" or similar, and when approached by the member the driver and colleagues quickly made off.
This scenario is similar to one a year or so ago when it was found that the "workmen" were taking money for repairs or maintenance in advance and not carrying out the work.
Whist in this instance we have no concrete evidence that these are the same people, members and all hut owners should be on their guard ,and if needing to employ tradesmen ensure that you get references, if possible from other members known to you,and do not pay out until work has been done.
BEST WISHES FROM YOUR COMMITTE FOR A HAPPY AND COVID FREE NEW YEAR.
SCAMWATCH With the New Year it is apparent that scammers are still with us. Two that have come to our attention recently appear to originate from Amazon, where an email claiming that your account has been frozen and asking for further details, and more topically a text offering an appointment for a vaccine at a price when a link transfers you to what appears to be an NHS website ( but isn't) and invites you to divulge your bank card details. AS ALWAYS DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY THESE OR OTHERS. BE ON YOUR GUARD.
